Parking Lot Striping
Keeping your parking lot striping and pavement markings maintained is a great way to make a good impression on your customers, clients, and the public. Proper line striping and pavement markings are also necessary to keep you in compliance with codes and regulations that may apply to your parking area such as the Americans With Disabilities Act, and local fire lane codes.
We provide quality traffic paints and use top of the line airless striping equipment to ensure you get a quality job. In addition to this we also pay attention to important details such as:
Proper surface preparation including sweeping, air blowing, and pressure washing.
String lining end points so that lines start and stop where they should.
Straightening crooked lines.
Making sure that old paint doesn’t show after stencil work.
Providing proper traffic control to protect our work, and the public’s safety.
Whether your job has a handful of parking spaces, or thousands of parking spaces you can rest assured that we will complete it effienctly and with the attention to detail described above.
Parking Lot Striping – New Layout
New Layout Striping is performed primarily for General Contractors or Paving Contractors on new construction projects or the resurfacing project of an existing parking lot.
On new construction projects the design of the parking lot and the parking spaces have been previously completed by an architect or engineering company. A blueprint is provided to the striping contractor for the completion of the parking lot striping. The design was created to maximize the effiency of the parking lot and to follow all the laws and regulations in the area. Materials and application methods for the striping are also covered in the specifications.
On resurfacing projects the previous layout of the parking lot can be duplicated by examination of the parking lot before the resurfacing is completed. Detailed notes and photographs are useful to achieve this. This is also an opportune time to make any changes to the layout to correct any defiencies or to comply with new codes and regulations.
We have 35 years of experience striping parking lots and can complete your new layout striping project if it has been engineered, or we are capable of desiging your parking area without engineering or blueprints.
Parking Lot Striping – Restriping
Restriping your parking lot is a relatively inexpensive and simple way to freshen up your property’s appearance and let your customers know you pay attention to detail.
Our standard procedure for restriping a parking lot is to first set up the traffic control necessary to ensure a safe workplace. We then start on surface preparation including removing trash and debris, sweeping, and air blowing the painted surfaces. (In cases where pressure washing is needed we will schedule that to be completed prior to the painting crew’s arrival). We then do any chalk lining or layout necessary. At that point we complete the painting process and leave the property with traffic control devices in place.
Most often for restriping we use a fast-drying latex traffic paint that meets or exceeds federal specifications. The use of alkyd or oil base paints that contain solvents can cause lifting of the old paint.
Parking Lot Striping – A.D.A Compliance
The Americans With Disabilities Act applies to all parking lots. We spent a good deal of time in the early 1990’s redesigning and repainting disabled parking spaces for many customers to make their parking lots compliant with the law.
The A.D.A covers the quantity, placement, and dimensions of disabled parking spaces, signage, and access aisles needed for parking lots.
The A.D.A Business Brief is concise one page PDF that provides key information for disabled parking spaces. To access the Brief click this link: http://www.ada.gov/restribr.pdf
